Which length of ramp should I purchase?

To identify which ramp length you require, we recommended measuring the vertical height from the ground to where the ramp will rest, this is your 'load height'. This height will help you to identify the ramp length required to achieve a smooth gradient for easy loading.

Once you have the height you can simply times this by 3.3 to identify the ramp length required. For ease, all of our van ramps note the maximum load height on the product pages. Please note, if you are loading an item with low ground clearance, such as pallet trucks, it is likely you will need a longer ramp length. Please contact our team for advice.

Which width of van ramp should I purchase?

To identify the required width, we recommend checking the maximum width of the vehicle. We then recommend checking the maximum width of the items you wish to load. Wider ramps are of course heavier so if you are loading narrow items you may wish to opt for a narrower ramp.

When choosing the ramp to purchase ensure to check the maximum ramp with and the useable ramp width to ensure the items you are loading will fit on the ramp.

How does the ramp secure onto the van or truck?

Our truck and van ramps are provided with a curved rest on connection meaning they simply rest onto the vehicle. The foot of the loading ramp is cut for the recommended load height to ensure the ramp sits securely on the ground during loading. The combination of the connection, foot of the ramp and weight of the goods prevents the ramp from moving.

Our premium truck and van ramps are provided with a hole within the rest on connection to allow you to secure the ramp to the van if you wish to.

The rest on connection is perfect for vehicles such as flat-bed vehicles and tipper trucks. If you have an alternative vehicle, such as a beaver tail trailer, we do offer alternative connection options on our premium ramps. Please contact our team for more information.

If you are seeking a fixed folding van ramp, these are secured into the vehicle with several fixings and left in place.
