Flow Plates

Flow Plates: Controlling The Direction of Traffic

Flow Plates are a great way of keeping traffic flowing in one direction in areas such as private car parks and industrial estates. They are useful for stopping vehicles entering the exit of a car park or exiting via an entrance of a car park.

There are two main types available; standard flow plates for smaller car parks with medium traffic flow and heavy duty flow plates for areas where HGV’s may be present. Flow plates with shark teeth are also available. These are suitable for cars and HGVs and are provided with a spring so the teeth are pushed down when the vehicle crosses in the correct direction. If vehicles go over these in the wrong direction the tyres are likely to be damaged.

It is important to ensure sufficient signage and speed bumps are used with flow plates. The absence of these can cause vehicles to cross them too quickly and cause damage to the springs. You can view our speed bumps that work great when paired with flow plates here. Signage is also required to ensure that vehicles have prior warning that flow plates are in place.

One way traffic flaps

Our one way flow plate design comes in a high visibility yellow for safety and can be locked down for temporary use in both directions. We have two options available: Flow Plates for Small Vehicles and  Heavy Duty Flow Plates. These traffic flow control plates are made using a heavy gauge thick checkered plate designed to to be highly durable in all weathers. They are surface mounted and also come with free fixings for both concrete and tarmac surfaces which makes them easy to install for a completely secure fit.

Please note, these products are unique to The Ramp People group and almost always in stock for immediate dispatch!

Alligator teeth barriers

Our one way traffic spikes have the same purpose as flow plates but instead, use tire spikes instead of a plate barrier that can damage tires. This design is perfect for more secure locations such as private industrial areas that want to provide a stronger deterrent to cars going the wrong way for security reasons. They are surface mounted and also come with free fixings for both concrete and tarmac surfaces which makes them easy to install for a completely secure fit.

All flow plates are produced from steel and supplied with fixings for concrete free of charge. Installation instructions, along with recommended layouts can be found in the description area on the product page. Please note, our flow plates should not be fitted on gravel roads as it can reduce their lifespan.
