The sloped design takes pressure off the users legs, hip and back, in turn reducing the pain from prolonged standing. Who should not use a perching stool?

A perching stool should not be used by individuals with poor balance or control of the upper body when sitting. They are also not designed for individuals who cannot put any weight on one or both legs. If you are unsure whether a perching stool is suitable for you we would recommend contacting your doctor or Occupational Therapist for advice.

How do you use a perching stool safely?

It is important the perching stool is placed on flat, even ground to prevent movement. The stool should be used in a spacious area to reduce the risk of trip hazards.

When you wish to sit or stand up from the stool always hold on to both armrests to prevent the stool from moving.

When perched on the stool do not attempt to reach down towards the floor or lean to the side as this could lead to the perching stool tilting and in turn tipping over.

How easy is it to assemble a perching stool?

What height should the perching stool be set to?

The perching stools are height-adjustable to allow you to set the stools to a height which is comfortable for you. When the stool is set up, your feet should have good contact with the floor.

How portable are perching stools?

What is the weight capacity of the stools?

How do you clean a perching stool?

Perching stools are designed to be easy to clean, most can simply be wiped clean with a cloth and mild detergent. Please view the user guide on your chosen model for full details.

Can perching stools be purchased VAT exempt?

Yes, as mobility aids, perching stools can be purchased VAT exempt for those in the UK. When purchasing the stool simply complete your VAT exemption details in the VAT relief box which shows when you add the item to the basket. We simply require the full name of the person the stool is for and disability or, if purchasing for a charity, the charity name and number.

Pre-Easter Delivery Cut-off Notice

To ensure your orders arrive in time for Easter, please note that our cut-off time for pre-Easter delivery using our standard delivery option is 2:00 PM on Tuesday, 15th April. Orders placed after this time will be delivered after the Easter break.

For customers selecting our next day delivery service, the cut-off is 2:00 PM on Wednesday, 16th April.

Delivery information & receipt of goods

We’re committed to ensuring your order arrives on time and in perfect condition. To help us do that, please check your delivery address is correct on your invoice and let us know right away if anything needs updating. When your order arrives, we recommend signing for it, only if you’re happy with its condition. Your satisfaction is very important to us!

Delivery time frames

Our deliveries usually take place between 9:00am and 6:00pm, and someone will need to be there to sign for the order. Most of our Next Day Delivery orders (placed before 3:00pm) arrive the following working day, but as much as we try, we can’t always guarantee it. If you need something urgently, contact us at: hello@theramppeople.co.uk - We’re dedicated to ensuring you’re completely satisfied with both our products and service.

If your order is going out on a pallet, the cut-off time might be a little earlier (usually midday) because of courier collection times. Give us a call or email to double check. Please also make sure someone’s available to receive the delivery, as missed pallet deliveries can lead to extra charges.

Item incorrect or damaged on arrival

Upon delivery, please do not sign for the goods unless you are happy with the condition of the product.

We take pride in our service. If something arrives incorrectly or damaged, we’re here to put it right. Before signing for your delivery, please ensure you're happy with the condition of your item. If there’s a problem, contact us right away at 01372 569051. For damaged goods, please email a photo to hello@theramppeople.co.uk so we can sort things quickly. We’ll verify your order and arrange prompt delivery of the correct item, along with collection of the original if needed. Refunds or replacements will be processed once we’ve received and checked the returned items.

Faulty items

If your item is faulty or develops a fault, we’ll do everything we can to resolve the issue efficiently. Please refer to our warranty terms in our Terms & Conditions for full details. If the fault is confirmed and the item is within warranty, we’ll arrange a repair or replacement. If you need a quick replacement, we recommend placing a new order - your refund will follow once the faulty item is returned and assessed.

Items that cannot be cancelled or returned

While we aim to be flexible, a few items are non-returnable due to their nature or regulatory requirements.

Products marked as “built to order” or customised.
Personalised items or those made to your specification.

How to return your item

As the customers, you are responsible for arranging the return of any items to us. You are welcome to use a courier service of your choice; many of our customers find comparison websites such as Parcel2Go helpful for finding competitive delivery rates. We recommend choosing a tracked service for peace of mind and retaining proof of delivery until your return has been fully processed. Unwanted items should be sent back to our address marked 'Returns Department'.

Please download, print and return our completed returns form below and return this along with your item. If you do not have access to a printer, you can simply write the required details out from the form on a piece of paper.

Customers are responsible for any returned goods until they reach our warehouse as stated in this returns policy. None of these terms or conditions affect your statutory legal rights.

Once your item has been returned to our warehouse, please allow 1–2 working days for inspection. If the item’s condition matches the agreed terms, we will issue a credit note via email. After the credit note has been sent, please allow up to 7 days for the refund to be processed.

I am interested in The Ramp People's Perching Stool. How easy is it to adjust the height?

The height can easily be adjusted, simply remove the 'E' clip and extend to your required height. Reinstall the 'E' clip at your preferred height.

I am viewing the Perching Stool. Can the height be adjusted for uneven floor surfaces?

No, the Perching Stool should always be used on a flat, even surface. Ensure all legs are touching the floor when using the stool.
