What Is ISO 9001 and Why It Matters

ISO 9001 is a globally recognised standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). The standard defines what makes a good QMS. To achieve ISO 9001, regular internal audits are required along with audit by external companies. At The Ramp People, external audits are undertaken annually to ensure our quality management system meets the requirements outlined in ISO 9001:2015.

ISO 9001 is important for customers as it shows companies are dedicated to the customer journey and continual improvement. ISO 9001’s key focus is on quality and the customer journey. The standard requires organisations to have a plan for risks and identify opportunities, ensure the team has the right level of training and support and that performance is regularly monitored and reviewed.

How The Ramp People Align With the Key Clauses of ISO 9001

Below we will cover a few of the key clauses outlined in ISO 9001:2015 and understand how The Ramp People meet these requirements.

Clause 6 Planning

Clause 6 of ISO 9001 focuses on planning and the importance of identifying issues, risks and opportunities.

At The Ramp People we have an effective risk register in place which outlines various risks to the business, from stock delays to the loss of couriers. We have a range of measures in place to ensure customers are not affected by external risks to the business. For example, we use a range of couriers to ship our items across the UK and Ireland so if one courier is unable to collect items from our warehouse we are able to send the items with an alternative courier to ensure customers still get the items on time. We also have a dedicated Logistics Manager, Warehouse Manager and Product Manager who work closely to monitor all our stock levels and ensure all of our key items are held in stock for immediate dispatch.

Clause 8 Operation

Clause 8 of ISO 9001 focuses on operation including operation planning and control, requirements for products and services and determining the requirements of products and services. The clause also covers the release of products to customers and ensuring the product requirements have been met

At The Ramp People we have stringent processes in place to meet clause 8. All of our product specifications are easily available for customers to view on our website, our customer service team are also easily available via phone, email or webchat if a customer requires any further information. We make the customer journey as easy as possible. Customers can easily order via our website. Upon dispatch of goods, customers are automatically sent a VAT invoice and tracking details for their items. The team is available on hand for any follow up questions customers can have. We also ensure we meet and exceed legal requirements outlined in the Consumer Rights Act by offering customers a 60 days return period.

Clause 9 Performance Evaluation

Clause 9 of ISO 9001 focuses on the requirement for organisations to evaluate performance including monitoring and measuring customer satisfaction and undertaking internal audits to monitor their own performance.

In line with clause 9.1.2, The Ramp People continuously monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction. All customers who purchase via our website are automatically sent a TrustPilot review request to allow them to provide feedback following their purchase. Customers who purchase via our eBay and Amazon stores are also automatically sent feedback requests from the relevant marketplaces.

At The Ramp People we regularly monitor, review and respond to the feedback to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained. If any negative feedback is received the customer is quickly contacted and the feedback is reviewed by our Customer Service Manager. When required the matter is escalated to our relevant department such as our dedicated Product Manager or the Warehouse Manager.

In 2025 we maintained an excellent rating across our website and marketplaces. On TrustPilot with 4.9 stars out of 5 stars. On eBay we also continually received positive feedback, achieving a 99.8% positive feedback rating. On Amazon we also have achieved 4.8 stars out of 5 stars.

Where Should Speed Bumps be Located

It is essential that speed bumps are clearly visible to both drivers and pedestrians to ensure they can react safely and in good time. Visibility can be improved through adequate lighting, such as nearby street lighting that illuminates the road surface, as well as by incorporating reflectors or reflective markings directly on the speed bumps themselves. These measures help highlight the bumps in low-light conditions or at night, reducing the risk of accidents and improving overall road safety.

Who Should I Inform Prior to Installation

Before you install speed bumps, you are legally required to inform those who will be affected by the speed bumps. For example, it is important to inform emergency services including the police, ambulance and fire brigade.

You must also inform residents in the area, transport services (if they operate on the road), traders, the council and any other organisations who may be affected.

Installation Guidance

The Ramp People provide fixings for tarmac and concrete, and a free drill bit, with all speed bumps and speed cushions. The speed bumps and speed cushions are easy to install, any confident DIY'er or handyman can install these.

We also have a handy installation guide. Our Product Guide for Speed Bumps & Speed Cushions can be found here
