Louise Grant is the Head of Digital Content & Marketplaces at The Ramp People and has over six years of experience helping customers find safe access and loading solutions. Since joining the company, Louise has developed extensive knowledge of wheelchair ramps, mobility aids, vehicle ramps, traffic calming equipment and workplace safety equipment.
Louise began her career at The Ramp People as a Customer Sales Coordinator, where she worked directly with customers via phone, email and live chat. This hands-on experience gave her an in-depth understanding of the challenges faced by individuals, businesses, schools, healthcare providers and public sector organisations, allowing her to recommend products that best meet each customer's specific requirements. Over the years, she has helped thousands of customers identify suitable access solutions, giving her valuable insight into the questions, challenges and considerations that matter most when choosing the right product.
Today, Louise combines her customer knowledge with her responsibility for managing The Ramp People's online marketplaces and website content. She regularly writes product listings, buying guides, product advice articles and educational blogs, translating technical product information, industry standards and regulations into clear, practical guidance that helps customers make informed purchasing decisions.
Louise's expertise is built on first-hand experience with the products she writes about. She regularly visits The Ramp People's warehouse to inspect new products before they are added to the website, allowing her to assess their quality, features and suitability for various applications. She works closely with colleagues across the warehouse, customer service and purchasing teams to ensure product information is accurate, complete and reflects how products are used in real-world situations. Louise is also actively involved in product photography, helping customers better understand how products work before making a purchase.
She plays an active role in expanding The Ramp People's product range, working closely with the Product Manager, manufacturers and suppliers to introduce new products based on customer feedback and emerging market needs. Her experience helps ensure that new products meet customer expectations and provide practical solutions to real accessibility, loading and workplace safety challenges.
During The Ramp People's time at its Esher premises, Louise also played an active role in maintaining workplace health and safety standards. She coordinated regular inspections of warehouse equipment, including pallet trucks and ladders, helping to ensure equipment remained safe and fit for use. She worked closely with the company's Health & Safety auditor during annual audits and reviews, giving her practical experience of workplace risk management, equipment inspections and compliance with health and safety best practice.
Quality and continuous improvement are central to Louise's role. She manages The Ramp People's ISO 9001 internal audit programme and has achieved ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification. This experience has given her a strong understanding of quality management systems and the ability to interpret technical standards and industry guidance, including BS EN standards for products such as ladders, as well as UK Building Regulations, including Approved Documents Part M and Part K. She uses this knowledge to ensure the content she produces is accurate, up to date and reflects current best practice.
Louise works closely with customer service, the warehouse team, suppliers and manufacturers, giving her a unique understanding of the entire customer journey, from product selection and technical enquiries through to fulfilment and after-sales support. This cross-functional experience helps ensure the advice she provides is both technically accurate and practical for customers.
Before joining The Ramp People, Louise volunteered for three years with a charity supporting older people. Working directly with older members of the community strengthened her appreciation of the importance of accessibility, maintaining independence and providing practical support to help people overcome everyday challenges. This experience continues to influence her customer-focused approach when writing about accessibility and mobility solutions.
As a dog owner, Louise also has personal experience using pet ramps, giving her additional practical insight into the features that matter most to pet owners, including stability, grip and ease of use.
Louise's articles draw upon her direct experience working with customers, handling and assessing products, collaborating with manufacturers, interpreting industry standards and contributing to product development. Her aim is to provide clear, trustworthy and practical advice that helps customers choose the right solution with confidence.
