Motorcycle Ramps - Which One Is Right For You?
Here at The Ramp People we have an extensive range of folding aluminium Motorcycle Ramps to help you easily load your motorbike into your van, trailer or overcome steps. The ramps have been built with ease of loading in mind, ensuring the ramps sit at the correct angle for loading. These lightweight aluminium ramps are a popular solution for those loading motorbikes, ride on lawnmowers, ATVs and quad bikes.
What angle do you need for loading a motorcycle up a ramp?
When searching for the right ramp, it is important to check your load height. This is the vertical height from the ground to where the ramp will rest. For loading motorbikes, quad bikes, ride on lawnmowers and similar, a maximum gradient of 30%, or 1:3.3 should be used. To work out your required ramp length, check your load height and times this figure by 3.3. To make things easier, all of our motorcycle ramps state the maximum load height within the product description. Its is important not to exceed this or you will be loading at a steeper gradient than recommended.
All of our folding motorcycle ramps are curved for improved ground clearance.
For example, our popular folding loading ramps with a double support bar are designed for a maximum load height of 666mm. These ramps are 2200mm in length. If your load height is higher than 666mm, you will require longer ramps, for example our extra wide ramps which are designed for a maximum load height of 835mm.

What is the maximum weight of your motorbike?
It is important to check the maximum weight you plan to load. Remember to also consider the weight of the rider if someone will be sitting on the ramp during loading. Our range of folding ramps have capacities from 300kg per ramp to our heavy duty solutions with support legs which have a capacity of 680kg per ramp (1360kg across the pair).

How wide do you require your motorcycle ramp to be?
We offer various widths of folding motorcycle ramps from 230mm wide to 440mm wide.
Do you wish to sit on the motorbike during loading?
We offer a range of single motorcycle ramps to allow you to push the bike up the ramp however, in some instances you may wish to sit on the bike during loading. For this we would suggest our extra wide kit which includes 3 ramps. These ramps can be placed together to allow you to have the motorcycle on the inner ramp whilst your feet rest on the two external ramps.

How does the ramp stay in place during loading?
All of our ramps have a curved rest on connection which simply rests on to your vehicle or step. The foot of the ramp is cut for the load height to ensure it sits securely on the ground during loading. For additional security, safety straps are provided with the ramps to allow you to secure the ramps to the vehicle during loading.

How to load a motorcycle over a small step or kerb
If you are seeking to load your motorcycle up a step or kerb, we would instead suggest viewing our rubber kerb ramps. These ramps are available in heights up to 177mm/7" and have capacities between 500 - 20,00kg. These durable ramps can simply be put down against the step. As they are rubber you can leave these in place.

Additional Items To Check
- Check the weight of the ramp is suitable for your requirements, our ramps start at 7.5kg per ramp
- Check your wheel width, some ramps have a minimum wheel width noted on the descriptions
- Check the folded length of the ramp fits in the area where you wish to store the ramp
We normally have the majority of our bike ramps in stock for immediate dispatch. Delivery is free across mainland UK.
Please note, these ramps are not suitable for caster wheels or solid wheels. For loading items such as trolleys we would instead recommend viewing our truck ramps and van ramps.
