Certain goods and services for disabled people are zero-rated for VAT, including mobility aids, as long as the customer is eligible and the goods are for domestic or personal use. All of our wheelchair ramps classify as mobility aids and therefore those eligible can purchase these VAT exempt.
Who is eligible?
VAT relief is available for individuals with chronic illnesses and or disabilities. The wheelchair ramp must be for exclusive use by the disabled individual. VAT relief is also available to registered UK charities.
Who is not eligible?
Businesses are not eligible for VAT relief. VAT relief is also not available where the ramp is being purchased for a group of people to use, except for charities. In addition, those with temporary incapacities, such as broken bones, are required to pay the VAT.
How do I claim my VAT back?
At the checkout stage, prior to entering payment details, there is a VAT exemption box. Simply enter the full name of the person the ramp is for and their disability, or the charity name and number, and tick to confirm it is correct. The VAT will then automatically be removed from your purchase.

Pre-Easter Delivery Cut-off Notice
To ensure your orders arrive in time for Easter, please note that our cut-off time for pre-Easter delivery using our standard delivery option is 2:00 PM on Tuesday, 15th April. Orders placed after this time will be delivered after the Easter break.
For customers selecting our next day delivery service, the cut-off is 2:00 PM on Wednesday, 16th April.

We pride ourselves on our ability to get in-stock goods to our UK mainland customers within 2-3 business days, subject to stock availability. Please note, we use a specialised courier to deliver large items. Due to this, your estimated delivery time maybe longer and delivery times may vary from 5 to 10 working days. Delivery times to remote UK locations may also vary depending on your location. For customers that require goods quickly, we now offer a Next Day Delivery option.

Our cut off times for same-day dispatch on Standard and Next Day Delivery orders is: 2pm Monday - Friday (Excluding Bank Holidays).
Where we deliver free of charge...
Free Delivery on all orders to Mainland England, Wales & Southern Scotland. All items are trackable, we will email a tracking link to you once your item is dispatched from our UK warehouse.
Unfortunately, we aren't able to offer all UK customers Free Delivery. However, where the delivery location is chargeable; we endeavour to keep these charges to a minimum and offer our customers' value for money delivery.
Delivery to the following locations: Northern Ireland, Ireland, Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands, Isle of Man and Channel Islands are calculated and displayed at the checkout, upon entering your address and prior to placing your order.

Delivery information & receipt of goods
We want you to receive your goods on a timely basis and in pristine condition. Please help us accomplish this by checking the delivery address carefully as noted on the attached invoice and notifying us immediately if there is an error. Upon delivery, please do not sign for the goods unless you are happy with the condition of the product.
Delivery timeframes
Deliveries will occur between the hours of 9:00am and 6:00pm and will require a signature upon receipt. Whilst 99% of orders placed on Next Day Delivery arrive the next working day (orders placed before 2.00pm) however, this cannot unfortunately be guaranteed.
If you do need the item urgently please contact us at hello@theramppeople.co.uk so that we can best advise you. Your satisfaction with The Ramp People's product and service is our paramount concern.
Please note, if your item is due to be sent on a pallet the cut off time may be reduced from 2:00pm to midday due to carrier collection times, please contact our office for confirmation. If your order is on a pallet, please insure that someone is able to accept the delivery as re-delivery may incur additional cost.
If you have purchased a loading ramp, prior to use please make sure to check the maximum load height as stated on the invoice, read the safety instructions on the side of the ramp closely, and follow the instructions supplied with the product. Failure to comply with product instructions will invalidate your warranty.

Item incorrect or damaged on arrival
Upon delivery, please do not sign for the goods unless you are happy with the condition of the product.
We take pride in our service. If something arrives incorrectly or damaged, we’re here to put it right. Before signing for your delivery, please ensure you're happy with the condition of your item. If there’s a problem, contact us right away at 01372 569051. For damaged goods, please email a photo to hello@theramppeople.co.uk so we can sort things quickly. We’ll verify your order and arrange prompt delivery of the correct item, along with collection of the original if needed. Refunds or replacements will be processed once we’ve received and checked the returned items.
Faulty items
If your item is faulty or develops a fault, we’ll do everything we can to resolve the issue efficiently. Please refer to our warranty terms in our Terms & Conditions for full details. If the fault is confirmed and the item is within warranty, we’ll arrange a repair or replacement. If you need a quick replacement, we recommend placing a new order - your refund will follow once the faulty item is returned and assessed.
Items that cannot be cancelled or returned
While we aim to be flexible, a few items are non-returnable due to their nature or regulatory requirements.
These include:
- Products marked as “built to order” or customised.
- Personalised items or those made to your specification.
How to return your item
As the customers, you are responsible for arranging the return of any items to us. You are welcome to use a courier service of your choice; many of our customers find comparison websites such as Parcel2Go helpful for finding competitive delivery rates. We recommend choosing a tracked service for peace of mind and retaining proof of delivery until your return has been fully processed. Unwanted items should be sent back to our address marked 'Returns Department'.
Please download, print and return our completed returns form below and return this along with your item. If you do not have access to a printer, you can simply write the required details out from the form on a piece of paper.
Customers are responsible for any returned goods until they reach our warehouse as stated in this returns policy. None of these terms or conditions affect your statutory legal rights.
Once the item is returned back to our warehouse, please allow 1-2 working days for the items to be checked. Once the items have been checked and the condition is as agreed, a credit note will be emailed across to you. Once the credit note has been provided, refunds can take up to 7 days.
