What is a shower stool?
A shower stool is a mobility aid designed to assist those with limited mobility, the elderly, those with long-term conditions, and those recovering from surgery to shower independently. Shower stools allow users to sit whilst showering, providing a safe place for users to rest and reduce the risk of slips and falls.
Who benefits from using a shower stool? 
A shower stool is often beneficial for those with limited mobility the elderly, those with long-term conditions, and those recovering from surgery. Shower stools are designed to reduce the risk of falls, manage fatigue and maintain independence. Shower stools are commonly used by those who suffer from fatigue, joint pain, leg pain, arthritis, COPD, those with balance issues and similar.
When is a shower stool used? 
Shower stools can be used for the full duration of the shower or can also be used or can similarly be used as a place to sit whilst users wash their legs and feet or shave.
What height should the shower stool be set to? 
When setting the height of your shower stool, it is important that your feet are flat on the floor and your knees remain level or slightly below your hips. The shower stool's legs should be even and sit flat on the ground. 
Do shower stools include a shower head holder?
This depends on the model purchased; some do have this feature, which is especially beneficial for those who struggle to lean forward and reach for the shower head if it falls on the floor.
Do shower stools come with backrests and armrests?

Do the NHS provide shower stools? 
Yes the NHS often provide shower stools to eligible individuals. To receive a shower stool through the NHS, you will usually need a home assessment completed by your local council or Occupational Therapist (OT). Shower stools via the NHS are usually provided free on a loaned basis; the lead time and type of stool you receive can vary, which is why many opt to purchase them privately. 
What should you check before buying a shower stool? 
Firstly, ensure a shower stool is suitable for you based on your abilities, if you are unsure, contact your GP or Occupational Therapist for advice. It is important to check the capacity of the shower stool to ensure it is suitable for your weight. We recommend checking the size of the stool to ensure it will fit within your bathroom, and checking that the seat width is suitable for your frame. It is also important to check the minimum and maximum height the stool can be set to. Ensure the floor of your shower or wet room is flat to allow the chair to sit flat on the ground for stability.

The majority of shower stools and shower chairs are height-adjustable to allow you to achieve a comfortable seated position. They are usually simple to adjust by pressing the spring-loaded locking pin to extend or reduce the length of the legs.

What funding and financial support is available for purchasing shower stools and shower chairs in the UK?
In the UK, support is available to help you purchase a shower stool. As mobility aids, all shower tools are available to purchase with VAT relief when purchased by someone with a disability. You may be entitled to free home adaptations and equipment, which includes shower stools. To check if you qualify, you will need to apply for a home assessment from your local council. If you are being discharged from the hospital, the hospital may provide a shower stool or shower chair to you. The Occupational Therapist in charge of your discharge plan may also arrange this for you if they feel it is needed. Various charities also provide support for purchasing mobility aids.

We offer free delivery on all orders to Mainland England, Wales, and Southern Scotland. Every order is fully trackable, and you’ll receive a tracking link once your item ships from our UK warehouse. 

For other UK locations - including Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, the Highlands, Islands, Isle of Man, and Channel Islands - delivery charges are shown at checkout once your address is entered.

While free delivery is available to most of the UK, some locations may incur a charge. We work hard to keep these costs as low as possible, ensuring you receive reliable and great-value delivery wherever you are.

Delivery time frames

Our deliveries usually take place between 7:00am and 7:00pm, and someone will need to be there to sign for the order. Most next day delivery orders placed before 3:00pm arrive the following working day; however, while we always aim to meet this timeframe, it cannot be guaranteed. If your order is going out on a pallet, the cut-off time might be a little earlier (usually midday) because of courier collection times. Give us a call or email to double check. Please also make sure someone’s available to receive the delivery, as missed pallet deliveries can lead to extra charges.

Item incorrect or damaged on arrival

Upon delivery, please do not sign for the goods unless you are happy with the condition of the product.

We take pride in our service. If something arrives incorrectly or damaged, we’re here to put it right. Before signing for your delivery, please ensure you're happy with the condition of your item. If there’s a problem, contact us right away at 01372 569051. For damaged goods, please email a photo to [email protected] so we can sort things quickly. We’ll verify your order and arrange prompt delivery of the correct item, along with collection of the original if needed. Refunds or replacements will be processed once we’ve received and checked the returned items.

Faulty items

If your item is faulty or develops a fault, we’ll do everything we can to resolve the issue efficiently. Please refer to our warranty terms in our Terms & Conditions for full details. If the fault is confirmed and the item is within warranty, we’ll arrange a repair or replacement. If you need a quick replacement, we recommend placing a new order - your refund will follow once the faulty item is returned and assessed.

Items that cannot be cancelled or returned

While we aim to be flexible, a few items are non-returnable due to their nature or regulatory requirements.

  • Products marked as “built to order” or customised.
  • Personalised items or those made to your specification.

How to return your item

As the customers, you are responsible for arranging the return of any items to us. You are welcome to use a courier service of your choice; many of our customers find comparison websites such as Parcel2Go helpful for finding competitive delivery rates. We recommend choosing a tracked service for peace of mind and retaining proof of delivery until your return has been fully processed. Unwanted items should be sent back to our address marked 'Returns Department'.

Please download, print and return our completed returns form below and return this along with your item. If you do not have access to a printer, you can simply write the required details out from the form on a piece of paper.

Customers are responsible for any returned goods until they reach our warehouse as stated in this returns policy. None of these terms or conditions affect your statutory legal rights.

Once your item has been returned to our warehouse, please allow 1–2 working days for inspection. If the item’s condition matches the agreed terms, we will issue a credit note via email. After the credit note has been sent, please allow up to 7 days for the refund to be processed.
