This solid and durable aluminium folding dog car ramp with black non-slip grip surface easily allows animals that struggle with mobility, including older dogs and animals with joint problems to get in and out of vehicles. This dual-purpose dog ramp can also be used to overcome steps and kerbs. Choose from 4ft, 5ft, 6ft and 8ft lengths.

Please note, the 6ft ramps split in 2 - these are SPLIT ramps which make the ramps lighter to put in place and use.

Dog Ramps

What angle should a dog ramp be?

To identify the required ramp length, we recommend you multiply the height your dog is going up by 2.5 to ensure they are not too steep. For example, for a height of 700mm we would recommend a ramp length of at least 1750mm. Please note you will need to consider your pets abilities and whether they would need less of an incline if they have mobility issues. A longer ramp is always preferably where space allows as it means a smoother gradient.

Are steps or ramps better for dogs?

You should consider your dog's abilities and mobility issues when considering whether to get steps or ramps for your pet. Smaller dogs or dogs with mobility issues may struggle to climb steps or stairs especially if they are high so a ramp may be a better option.

Are dog ramps worth purchasing?

Here at The Ramp People, we definitely believe dog ramps are worth purchasing for your furry friend! Any pet or dog that is struggling to get up an obstacle will find it much easier if allowed to use a suitable dog ramp. If your pet has mobility issues, ramps will help to alleviate their pain when climbing up or down obstacles. Even pets without mobility issues can benefit, since regular jumping can put extra pressure on an animal's joints which could cause issues in the future.

Why are ramps needed for dogs to get onto the sofa or bed?

Some dogs struggle to get onto the sofa or bed due to their size or breed. For smaller dogs and puppies jumping from sofas and beds can often cause damage. For example, Dachshund dogs, or sausage dogs, can damage their bones and joints from jumping and therefore steps and ramps around the home are often recommended. The breed, along with other smaller dogs such as Shih Tzus, are often more prone to back injuries and spinal diseases such as Intervertebral Disk Disease (IVDD). Our adjustable dog ramps are designed to assist dogs to get onto sofas, beds or over steps. They can easily be adjusted to 6 different heights.

Are the dog ramps suitable for large dogs?

We offer a range of dog ramps, including ramps for medium dogs and large dogs. For example our telescopic dog ramp offers a 90kg capacity whilst our multi-fold dog ramp offers a 275kg capacity, making it more than suitable for any pooch!

How do I secure the dog ramp safely?

At The Ramp People we specialise in portable, temporary ramps. So, like all of our other ramps, our pet and dog ramps simply rest in place when in use for easy and quick set-up. The curved rest on connection, the angle and the weight of the ramp and the pet keeps the ramp firmly in place when in use.

What material are the dog ramps produced from?

The surface of our dog ramps are pet friendly and have been built with doggies in mind! Our wooden adjustable pet ramps offer a carpeted surface whilst our telescopic dog ramp offers a black anti-slip surface which has been tried and tested on our own pooches! The rubber pet ramps offer a rubber anti-slip surface whilst the lightweight folding dog ramp is plastic with grooves for optimum grip during use.

Do the ramps have safety edges?

The majority of our dog ramps do have safety edges to help guide your dog and prevent them stepping off the ramp, however, we always suggest always supervising when your pet is using the products.

How portable are the dog ramps?

The Ramp People offer a range of dog ramps which are portable and lightweight. Our folding dog ramp folds to half its length whilst the telescopic dog ramp slides down to a reduced length for storage. Our wooden adjustable dog ramps fold and clip shut for storage and are provided with a carry handle.

We’re committed to ensuring your order arrives on time and in perfect condition. To help us do that, please check your delivery address is correct on your invoice and let us know right away if anything needs updating. When your order arrives, we recommend signing for it, only if you’re happy with its condition. Your satisfaction is very important to us!

Delivery time frames

Our deliveries usually take place between 9:00am and 6:00pm, and someone will need to be there to sign for the order. Most of our Next Day Delivery orders (placed before 3:00pm) arrive the following working day, but as much as we try, we can’t always guarantee it. If you need something urgently, contact us at: hello@theramppeople.co.uk - We’re dedicated to ensuring you’re completely satisfied with both our products and service.

If your order is going out on a pallet, the cut-off time might be a little earlier (usually midday) because of courier collection times. Give us a call or email to double check. Please also make sure someone’s available to receive the delivery, as missed pallet deliveries can lead to extra charges.

Item incorrect or damaged on arrival

If there’s a problem, contact us right away at 01372 569051. For damaged goods, please email a photo to hello@theramppeople.co.uk so we can sort things quickly. We’ll verify your order and arrange prompt delivery of the correct item, along with collection of the original if needed. Refunds or replacements will be processed once we’ve received and checked the returned items.

Faulty items

If your item is faulty or develops a fault, we’ll do everything we can to resolve the issue efficiently. Please refer to our warranty terms in our Terms & Conditions for full details. If the fault is confirmed and the item is within warranty, we’ll arrange a repair or replacement. If you need a quick replacement, we recommend placing a new order - your refund will follow once the faulty item is returned and assessed.

Items that cannot be cancelled or returned

While we aim to be flexible, a few items are non-returnable due to their nature or regulatory requirements.

How to return your item

As the customers, you are responsible for arranging the return of any items to us. You are welcome to use a courier service of your choice; many of our customers find comparison websites such as Parcel2Go helpful for finding competitive delivery rates. We recommend choosing a tracked service for peace of mind and retaining proof of delivery until your return has been fully processed. Unwanted items should be sent back to our address marked 'Returns Department'.

Please download, print and return our completed returns form below and return this along with your item. If you do not have access to a printer, you can simply write the required details out from the form on a piece of paper.
